From the TÜV Certifying Institute, the directors of the municipality of Arnhem, labor development company Scalabor and Sportbedrijf Arnhem today received an official certificate confirming that they are taking significant steps to reduce CO2 emissions in their business operations. This makes Arnhem the first large municipality in the Netherlands to receive such a certificate. Arnhems ambition is to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% in 2023 compared to 2018.
The certificate (which belongs to level 3 on the CO2 performance ladder) also shows the world what the joint efforts are in this area. In addition, the Scalabor, Sportbedrijf Arnhem and the municipality are helping to realize their energy and climate ambitions. The ambitions and measures can be found on www.arnhem.nl/klimaatplan (Dutch website).
The Climate Plan, which also includes the CO2 footprint of the municipal organization, contains specific measures, such as regionally generated green energy, solar panels on its own premises, the replacement of public lighting by LED lamps in phases and making the fleet of vehicles more sustainable.
